Are 64 bit operating systems supported?

Windows Vista 64 bit operating system requires using compability mode for KUKA.Sim executable. Compability mode can be assigned to the KUKA.Sim executable from right click popup menu choosing compatibility to use Windows XP.

What is the minimal configuration for KUKA.Sim Viewer 2.1 or KUKA.Sim Layout 2.1?

The minimum machine requirement is a 512MB (1Gb Windows Vista), 1 GHz (32-bit) computer, or a similarly specified laptop with a display capability of 1024 x 768 pixels. A two-button mouse is required. The graphics card should support OpenGL.

What is the minimal configuration for KUKA.Sim Tech 2.1 or KUKA.Sim Pro 2.1?

The minimum machine requirement is a 1Gb, 1 GHz (32-bit) computer, or a similarly specified laptop with a display capability of 1024 x 768 pixels. A two-button mouse is required. The graphics card should support OpenGL.

What CAD formats are supported in KUKA.Sim 2.1?

  AutoDesk : Acad DXF
AutoDesk : 3ds
Delmia : IGRIP/Quest/VNC Part files without NURBs and NURB surfaces
STL : ASCII and Binary
Tecnomatix : Robface without nurbs
VRML : Version 1 and 2 format

How can my customers view my layouts and simulations?

Simply send a Layout file to your customer and ask him to download the latest KUKA.Sim Viewer from the website. Follow this link for the download page of the KUKA.Sim Viewer.

Can simulations be sent by e-mail?

Simulations made with the KUKA.Sim products are distinctly smaller in size as compared to simulations made with similar products. An average simulation made with KUKA.Sim Layout is 2Mb in size and can easily be sent by e-mail.

How many robots can be simulated?

There is no limit to the robots which can be loaded into KUKA.Sim Viewer, Layout or Pro. Only 2 robots can be connected at the same time to the virtual controller in KUKA.Sim Pro. For this special case, you need one computer running the virtual controller KUKA.OfficeLite and one KUKA.OfficePC.

Can cycle times be obtained using KUKA.Sim Layout or KUKA.Sim Tech?

No, to obtain cycle times, use KUKA.Sim Pro in connection with KUKA.OfficeLite.

How accurate are the predicted cycle times?

The strength of KUKA.Sim Pro lies in the fact that the simulation system is connected in real-time with the original KUKA robot controller. Hence cycle times have an accuracy of over 95% for the time of the robot motions. Do not forget to have the same machine data loaded in your virtual controller as in your read robot controller. In addition, be sure to collect the correct delay times for the grippers, PLC signals etc. in order to get accurate total cycle times.

What is KUKA.OfficeLite?

KUKA.OfficeLite is the full robot controller which drives the KUKA robots. This same program runs on the KR C controller.

Do I need special post-processors for downloading and uploading KRL programs?

No, the full controller is shipped with KUKA.Sim Pro. Write your robot programs in the native KRL code on the virtual controller or load programs which have been made in the field directly into this virtual controller.
